Distressing, also referred to as aging or brushing, is a production process that gives the surface depth and texture. Traditionally, steel wire brushes with a wire thickness of 0.20 and 0.38 mm are used for this. However, these brushes do not differentiate between hard and soft grain in the wood.
If you would prefer to use the latest technology, we recommend nylon abrasive 46 grit brushes. These brushes give a much more attractive appearance, carefully removing only the soft grain to create the desired rustic “old “ surface.
All Cosma machines and brushes are supplied with a dust cover which has a connection to the extraction system so that dust is never allowed to settle on processed surfaces.
For conveyor belt processing we offer machines with an operational band width of 300 mm, 400 mm, 700 mm, 1000 mm and 1300 mm.

Wood Aging Machine Graining
The Cosma distressing machine utilizes steel wire or nylon abrasive brushes to create surface depth and texture. An excellent method to achieve quickly the aging woodgrain effect for floorings.
Modular Structure
Cosma machines consist of various modules that can be combined in a range of configurations according to the desired technique/s. Different processing steps can easily be combined in a single production flow. We integrate all the desired units into one or more compact production machines, allowing the entire production flow to be set up optimally and efficiently. For example: by combining distressing units with sanding units.
